St. Sabas Feast
The Greek Orthodox Monastery lies 14.5 km east of Bethlehem. It is one of the oldest inhabited monasteries in the world which dates back to the 5th century. The Greek Orthodox Church celebrates the feast of St. Sabas on December 18th. Many people visit the monastery complex to celebrate the feast of St. Sabas.
The monks in St. Sabas regularly host visitors. Guest rooms are provided for those who would like to spend some days in prayer. However, only males are allowed in; females can only pray in the adjacent St. Sophia Church.
